Role Description

Global Security Services Delivery (GSSD) forms part of Aviva’s Global Cyber Security Operations (GCSO) function, providing a variety of IT security operational services to Aviva markets; supporting regulatory, IT Security best practice, policy and business requirements. We provide resources, processes and technologies to identify and respond to information security/cyber threats, vulnerabilities and incidents in order to minimize adverse impact to Aviva, its customers and partners.

Working as part of the GSSD function, the individual will:

•Ensure the Data Loss Prevention (DLP) service is appropriately embedded into daily operations, is sustainable and provides effective and timely services to GSSD’s customers.
•Ensure availability, performance and security of the service to agreed targets through effective monitoring and management of suppliers.
•Manage escalations and ensuring up to date and compliance with associated DLP processes and procedures.
•Assess and approve changes to use/functionality of the DLP service, architecture or design.
•Work with the change initiatives, DLP consultants and analysts to administer the service and on-board new markets to agreed targets and quality.
•Take active role in understanding potential data loss vectors; understanding associated threats and contributing to definition and delivery of effective solutions.
•Contribute to security incidents as appropriate.
•Assist in global transformation of GCSO; leading and supporting a series of funded transformation activities (including initiatives involving or linked to data loss prevention).
•Support the Security Services Delivery Manager in the identification and ongoing monitoring of specific security risks and KPIs and production of management information to ensure Aviva receives value from key security investments/services.
•Contribute to design, development and maintenance of security standards and controls.

Essential Knowledge and Skills


•Security certifications (e.g. CISSP, CISM, CISA, SANS, CEH, etc.).
•Symantec Data Loss Prevention or similar enterprise data loss prevention technologies.
•Other certifications desired (CIPP/CIPM/CIPT, Microsoft, M_o_R).


•Symantec DLP architectures and technologies, implemented in a global, diverse environment.
•Administration and support of DLP tools including:◦Understanding complex business rules/control needs around data and their interpretation in to technical rules/solutions.
◦Validation of rules/solutions through effective and sustainable testing.
◦Maintenance, monitoring and management of an enterprise DLP service (security and service perspectives).
◦Oracle database administration.
◦Managing multiple DLP environments to ensure effective DLP system and policy release management (dev/test/deploy/ maintain).

•Third party supplier management.
•Infrastructure support and/or application development.
•Data analytics, interpretation and presentation.
•Management reporting.
•Awareness and use of security and privacy concepts (e.g. international and industry standards, legal and regulatory constraints, etc).

Skills / Knowledge

•Symantec DLP (Enforce, Network Prevent, Network Monitor, Network Discover/Protect, Endpoint, Data Insight, Cloud Connector, CloudDLP).
•Additional, relevant technologies (Symantec.Cloud, Echoworx, MDM, Lumension, etc.).
•Oracle database administration/ support/operations.
•Operating systems (e.g. Windows, Linux, etc.).
•Active Directory.
•Programming/scripting (e.g. PowerShell, PERL, Python, etc.).
•Networking fundamentals.
•Fundamentals of OSI model.
•Ability to communicate effectively with senior management and technical support teams to manage expectations, diagnose and resolve service problems.
